What do the spaces of Shenkar’s Visual Communication Department look like through the eyes of a student who also happens to be an architecture photographer?
“In my four years in the department, I have learned to explore proportions and abstraction in my surroundings. As an architecture photographer, I look through a lens that divides a given space into graphic values,” Rogowski explains.
Rogowski created graphic abstractions from photographs of the Shenkar campus with a focus on the Department of Visual Communication. Supported by gestalt principles, the result is a digital experience of visually exploring a space. Situated on the thin line between what we see and how we interpret it, the project questions fundamental concepts like depth, object size relations, and dimensions in space.
