Farlight is an interactive, home and modular lighting fixture that can be held in the hand and moved from place to place. It consists of several units which are stacked on top of each other in a central loading structure.
The light fixtures have three arms, and they scatter light for several hours. Their structure allows for a wide range of grips and uses in furniture or in different areas of the home space.
The project tries to examine the connection between us and household items. Is it possible, in a different design, to allow contact with objects that we usually shy away from? Will turning to the familiar characteristics give rise to a new experience, and perhaps a different emotion towards those objects?
