A series of tiles and other objects for the domestic space, created from recycled denim fabric with polymer plaster incorporated.
The project combines two material types with very different characteristics: textile and construction. The process of deconstructing denim and combining it with plaster broadens the material possibilities for new forms of objects. The cast mixture extends the fabric’s lifespan and allows it to be used in additional ways such as filtering light, air circulation, floor or wall coating, interior and exterior furniture, upholstery, and noise reduction.
Materials: denim pants, polymer plaster, silicone molds, wood, powder for dying the plaster
Techniques: deconstructing denim garments by unravelling and cutting, crushing with industrial machines, attaching with a felting needle machine, casting into molds
