The end of the world is here – we’ve brought it on ourselves. The modern horsemen of the apocalypse are bikers, riding on heavy motorcycles towards us. The damage is irreversible, but the question remains: What are we gonna do about it, if at all?
Is there a point to keep on fighting, leading a sustainable lifestyle to delay the inevitable, or should we just give in to hedonism and pollute indiscriminately, since the war is already lost?
These questions inspired a collection that consists of the conflict between using recycled materials and new ones. It’s designed to fit the chaotic climate changes on earth, and made of used materials: Old jeans, hazmat suits, insulation materials, plastic bags and fabric leftovers. All prints were handmade for each garment, inspired by oil spills, and the new “leather” was made of black grocery bags. The blending of used and unused is a reflection of both sides of the crisis: The riders of the apocalypse and those who fight them.
