This project researches polymeric capacitors, which can store and release electric charge in the same way as a battery. The ability to store energy is dependent on the material property of the medium between the two electrodes (known as the permittivity). In order to increase the permittivity, this project tested the effect of the number and thickness of the layers in the multi-layered structure of a sheet made from two polymer materials (PVDF, PMMA) with nanometric powders added. The technology of layer multiplication and extrusion yields a large number of layers, continuously, and produces a reproducible product at a low cost.
