Tal Bar Meir’s Stay is a visual circus of convulsions and perversions that also contains a great deal of tenderness and humanity. The figurative structure was created out of a wish to anthropomorphize powerful feelings and experiences into bodies that can be made ugly and distorted, but also nurtured, talked to, and loved. The doll-like images in the exhibition depict inner states that sometimes take on a sadistic shade, from the fear we all have of not seeing the line between a natural action and one that gets out of control, when we lose the grip on what seems rational and are subjected to our own Pandora’s Box.
