Dragons, monsters, demons, and angels are only a tiny part of the magical world depicted in Hebrew scripture and Jewish Apocrypha. The commandment “Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image” has led to many stories and characters being kept hidden in biblical texts most of us have never encountered. “Eretz Ov” (“Land of Witchery” in Hebrew) breathes life into some of these mythical characters, basing the interpretations on ancient texts. The images are inspired by Christian icons—visual representations that touch millions upon millions of people. I believe this is a way for us to rediscover and learn to appreciate Jewish mythology.” Dahan explains.
