This project concerns the reopening of the Ohel Theater (1925-1969). In this new iteration, the theater’s mission is to draw 25-40-year-olds back into the world of theater. Dekel Habi proposes a new way to do this, with a young, contemporary style rooted in historical design values. This style is showcased here in a series of posters for new original interpretations of classic stage plays. The chosen plays have shaped Israeli theater culture throughout its history, yet they appeal to younger audiences by dealing with issues of identity universally faced by young people.
