For 500 million years, life on Earth advanced according to the rules of evolution. Strange creatures like armored fish and human-sized dragonflies evolved and then became extinct during this period. In the short time that man has been present on Earth he detached himself from the rules of evolution and developed the ability to control it.
An example of this new path created by man is BioArt – artform in which through genetic engineering, new life forms can be created. The artist treats functionality as something secondary to the artistic expression but is still limited by the materials existing in nature. In a casual collection combined with tailored pieces, designed for women and men, Daniel assembled familiar clothing items out of their existing materials but in a different way, leaving a memory of the past by showing the fabric sheets and fibers that were part of the evolution of the garment.
