My inspiration for this project is Stockholm syndrome.  The dissonance that occurs in the mind of the hostage is what led me to choose this topic. A change of mind, the perception of one thing in multiple ways. A variety of details, images and memories that create one large, multi-layered image that can be interpreted in several ways. All of this has taken on greater significance in recent times, when I realized that this syndrome affects each of us in Our daily lies. Addiction to things that hurt us despite knowing they are not good for us. There is also the question of law enforcement and kidnapper – whose boundaries become blurred. Who is the protector and who is the threat?  In designing the collection, I seek to imitate the thought process taking place in the mind of the hostage, dissonance and a collection of details that form a single image, based on elements from the world of law enforcement and crime and the feelings of the hostage. To create the cuts, I took apart and combined objects and assembled them into one item. I used leather, cotton, nylon, fleece and knitwear that I knitted. The colors in the collection were taken from those used in police and prisoners’ uniforms, and the colors associated with the 1970s.
