As part of the sustainability challenge of significantly reducing waste production and the considerable amount of waste produced by used irrigation pipes in particular, which are thrown away at the end of each growing season, this project aims to develop a system of polyethylene irrigation pipes, which integrate recycled waste from other irrigation systems, nonrecyclable laminates from the packaging industry, and agricultural waste (such as alpeorujo, waste from the olive oil industry). The research was conducted in collaboration with Netafim as part of the framework of the CIRCLE consortium.
