“Nash Didan” (Aramaic for “our people”) were Jews born in Iran, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, around the city of Urmia. Never recognized as full citizens in their home countries, they were forced to lead nomadic lives and make a living as merchants traveling the Silk Road.
As a result, many details in their story have been erased, and they lack a cohesive narrative. To this day, Nash Didan are trying to collect and piece together their lost memories. This project stitches together the scattered fragments of their story through garments. This streetwear capsule collection targets a young audience with the aim of bringing generations together, helping young people connect with their roots, and inspiring them to reflect on the importance of their identities.
