A series of objects that offer a textile interpretation of movement and material: how movement creates textile and textile movement.
“Wild Textile” is a project about creating something out of nothing and finding personal expression through textile and movement. The project’s objects were created intuitively and spontaneously, with no planning; the raw materials used are secondhand fabrics that were collected and cut or torn into long strips. Each of the objects was created using a different textile technique – mostly manual, though knitting needles were occasionally used. Shapes and volumes relating to the body were formed during the work process, creating a movement-response cycle between the cloth object and the body.
Materials: secondhand white woven fabrics
Techniques: manual techniques, knitting with two needles, crochet, weaving knots
