This project makes historic architecture accessible to contemporary audiences by looking at buildings that no longer exist in Tel Aviv. The designer studied the form and structure of seven iconic Tel Aviv buildings and created a visual, typographic vocabulary based on the findings. The typographic choices are derived from a study of the structure and architectural style. The result is a series of seven gravestone-shaped posters, each defining a building’s place, time, and historical context. The posters will be featured at Open House Tel Aviv, a special event celebrating the city’s architecture.
