Recipe is a line of ceramic dishes developed during the pandemic that embody, with their form and material, the precision and care customary in baking.
The pandemic consigned people to their homes and led to an intense interest in cooking and baking.
The line of dishes was developed by observing the movements of bakers at work – from pastry chefs to amateur bakers. This observation led to a series of insights about hand movements common in baking, tools involved in the baking process, measuring exact weights and volumes, and organized storage of baking supplies after use.
These conclusions were then translated into the morphological development of a line of baking and serving dishes, which are designed for mass production but still insist on quality and attention to detail. With a basic set of dishes that appeals to a wide variety of bakers, this project tests our ability to innovate and contribute within a saturated market.
