Ō-yoroi is a protective accessory for riders of light two-wheeled vehicles in an urban environment. The wearable accessory was created out of a formal and functional quest for a balance between safety and fashionable appearance. It is designed to enhance the safety and protection of the wearer during an accident.
The project takes a stance on existing protective accessories, which are characterized by monotonous colors, heavy weight, large volume, and a generally masculine appearance. Ō-yoroi integrates the fashion world with the world of protective gear, offering a new silhouette for the urban rider by using hidden layering and assimilating protective elements into the cut of the clothing.
