Five outfits inspired by two places: Beit Jann and Tel Aviv.
The project was created in the context of an eight-year period of living and travelling between Beit Jann and Tel Aviv.
The work process stems from abstract drawings and embroidered topographical maps of the two places, elements that came together to become an autobiographical map. The drawings were processed with knitting software and executed on an industrial knitting machine. The resulting garments express a material and visual experience, telling the story of Morad’s journeys back and forth between the two cities.
Materials: Merino wool thread, alpaca thread, cotton thread, bamboo thread
Techniques: knitting on a Stoll-brand industrial machine, knitting on a hand machine, hand embroidery
